Job Overview

The Road Development and Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in planning, supervising, and maintaining key infrastructure across Nyamagabe District. You will be part of a professional team responsible for ensuring high-quality road networks and public works that support mobility, safety, and long-term district development.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, your daily tasks will revolve around technical supervision, infrastructure assessment, and strategic planning. Core responsibilities include:

1. Supervise Construction & Maintenance Works

  • Oversee all civil works involving roads, bridges, sewage systems, and drainage infrastructure.
  • Monitor contractors’ performance and ensure adherence to engineering standards and district guidelines.

2. Maintain an Updated Inventory of Road Conditions

  • Produce up-to-date assessments of all district roads.
  • Routinely evaluate road conditions and infrastructure needs.

3. Consolidate Road Construction & Maintenance Needs

  • Analyze development priorities across the district.
  • Propose a structured list of short-term and long-term road maintenance needs.

4. Suggest Intervention Priorities

  • Work with your direct supervisor to determine priority areas for construction and rehabilitation.
  • Ensure a strategic, data-driven approach to infrastructure decision-making.

5. Prepare Detailed Technical Reports

  • Draft progress reports, completion documents, and performance summaries for roads under construction.
  • Ensure proper documentation and transparency of all project activities.

6. Collaborate with Contract Management Agencies

  • Work closely with agencies contracted by the district to manage road design and execution.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with construction plans and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

This job is open to fresh graduates with 0 years of experience as long as you hold a Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction
  • Architecture
  • Public Works
