If you’ve been dreaming of launching a powerful career in communications, journalism, digital storytelling, or development work, this is one opportunity you simply can’t afford to miss.

GIZ Rwanda is now recruiting a Communications Intern for one of the region’s most strategic and impactful initiatives: the Incorporating Local Perspectives into the Women, Peace & Security (iWPS) Agenda project.

This is more than an internship — it is a gateway to international experience, professional growth, and hands-on involvement in advancing women’s participation in peace and security across the Great Lakes Region.

About GIZ & the iWPS Project

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is one of the world’s most recognized development organizations, operating in over 120 countries. GIZ Rwanda/Burundi manages a rich portfolio of programs that focus on:

  • Sustainable economic growth
  • Good governance
  • Climate & environmental solutions
  • Digital transformation
  • Peace, security, and regional cooperation

At the heart of this lies the Great Lakes Region (GLR) Cluster, which includes the iWPS project — a flagship initiative supporting local women, grassroots peacebuilders, and community organizations to shape the Women, Peace & Security Agenda in meaningful, long-term ways.

What makes the iWPS project special?

It empowers local actors, strengthens gender-responsive peacebuilding, and amplifies women’s voices at local, national, and regional levels. The work you do here will matter — and you’ll see its impact.
